Allstate Launches Fast Mobile e-Payment for Automotive Claims

Allstate is now offering its automotive glass claims’ customers a new option for payment—Fast Mobile e-Payment. Once a claim payment is approved for release by Allstate, this system can allow same-day payment. It is available for most insurance claims, including automotive glass, according to Justin Herndon a spokesperson for the company.

“We don’t see any particular claim as being the most common for the program,” he says. “It is a first for the industry. If there is a $500 deductible, sometimes glass claims will come in under that. But some jobs are more expensive. Let’s say it is an $800 job, the customer is responsible for the $500. We will pick up the extra $300 and the customer could use our new claims’ payment method.”

The claims’ process itself has not been affected by the new program. Allstate utilizes Safelite Solutions as its third-party automotive glass claims’ administrator, Herndon notes.

“The new payment method is just that, the fastest available payment but it does not directly impact the speed of any claims processing—just the payment end,” he says.

“If there is a back-and-forth on a claim, it will take time. But this new payment method does speed it up a little bit. A customer will know how much they are getting paid and that the payment is coming quickly from Allstate.”

Here’s how the process works:

—A consumer needs to confirm he is willing to use the new program;

—Then Allstate gathers an email address or mobile phone number from the consumer and sends it to Bank of America Merrill Lynch;

—The consumer will receive an email or text message with instructions on how to receive the payment;

—A one-time registration process needs to be performed by the consumer; and

—Once registered, the payment will be automatically processed into the consumer’s bank account.

“Consumers are more connected than ever and they expect companies to offer the technology to do business simply, instantaneously and on-the-go,” says Suren Gupta, executive vice president of Allstate Technology and Strategic Ventures. “We’re committed to innovation and we’ll add more features like Fast Mobile e-Payment to Allstate ExpressPay soon.”
