Dow Automotive First to Offer AGSC Recertification CE Credits

The Dow Automotive Fixed Glass Training Program is now available for AGRR technicians seeking Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) Technician Re-Accreditation.

The course is expected to take between 2 and 2 ½ hours to complete. Those completing the course will be entitled to 2 AGSC Adhesive Systems Continuing Education (CE) credits, according to Vinny LaMarco AGSC, certifications director.

A total of 18 CE credits is required over a three-year timespan for technicians to renew their AGSC technician accreditation.

Students who opt to recertify through education credits must have:

—4 full credits in safety (employee safety & OSHA topics);

—4 full credits in adhesive systems (usually given by adhesive vendor or internal trainer);

—8 full credits in installation topics (tools, procedures & problems); and

—2 full credits in standards and information (ANSI/AGRSS, NAGS & other data).

“Dow is the first external provider to submit and qualify to provide AGSC CE Credits to technicians,” according to LaMarco.

“Credit for the exact same course/credit is allowed a maximum of once every two years to encourage diversity,” LaMarco adds.

Companies interested in submitting and qualifying to provide AGSC CE Credits to technicians may contact LaMarco for more information at vlamarco@glass.com.
