Belron Canada announced December 23 the acquisition of Speedy Collision, a network of 24 franchise collision centers located across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario.
“This acquisition will allow our business partners to gain efficiency in having one point of contact for both their glass and collision repair needs,” said Ralph Hosker, president at Belron Canada. “This will facilitate a better understanding of their changing business needs, their claims challenges and how we can keep improving our service offering together. We look forward to welcoming our new colleagues in the Belron family.”
Belron Canada is the Canadian division of Belron International.
“Both companies share the same relentless focus on surpassing customer expectations by providing best-in-class service, superior-quality products, and remaining one step ahead by ensuring the highest level of training is achieved and that new technologies are deployed,” said Terry Allen, CEO at Speedy Collision. “The culture was a direct match and will be enhanced by joining forces.”
Belron Canada and Speedy Collision will continue to operate in their current physical locations under their respective banners.
For some Canadians, the sale was news, but was met with a shrug.
“I didn’t know there was a Speedy Collision,” said Mike Coakwell, manager at Ben’s Auto Glass in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. “So, no it won’t affect my business at all because we don’t have one here.”
Likewise, in Ottawa, Ontario, Scott Rancourt took the news in stride.
“Yeah, I’m aware of it,” said Rancourt, who works at Ontario Auto Glass. “Belron has owned a lot of Speedy Glass for a while now, and insurance companies push toward that.”
