Forklift Accident Results in Death at Fuyao Glass America

Fuyao Glass America in Moraine, Ohio.

The Moraine, Ohio, Police and Fire Divisions were dispatched to Fuyao Glass America early this morning after receiving a report of a forklift accident. The accident resulted in the death of the forklift operator, according to Sergeant Kenneth Lloyd of the Moraine Police Division.

“No other persons were injured during the incident,” he said. “The circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation by the Moraine Police Division.”

The identity of the deceased will be released pending the notification of next of kin.

“The investigation into the cause of this incident is ongoing,” according to a statement released by Fuyao Glass America. “We will be working closely alongside the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration as they investigate.”

“The hearts and thoughts of Fuyao associates worldwide are with the employee’s family at this difficult time,” Fuyao said in the statement.

The company has activated its Employee Assistance Program and indicated that responders are available for employee counseling.

Fuyao Glass America manufactures automotive glass for the original equipment and aftermarket industries.
