Three Companies Receive DOT Numbers

The Department of Transportation recently awarded three DOT numbers to two international automotive glass companies and one U.S.-based automotive company.

eNow Energy, based in Warwick, RI, received DOT number 1101. The company, debuted in 2011 and focused on the trucking industry while specializing in renewable energy systems. The company uses solar technology and has installed thousands of its systems across the country. Other industries, aside from automotive, have also taken an interest in eNow Energy’s solar technologies.

Zhiyun Glass in Xixiashu Town, Xinbei District of Changzhou City, China was awarded DOT number 1102.

Saint-Gobain Mexico SA DE CV in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico received DOT number 1103. The company began in 1995 and manufactures and processes flat and automotive glass. It has three business units and subsidiaries in Mexico: Saint-Gobain Glass Mexico, Saint-Gobain America (Mexico) and Saint-Gobain Gypsum S.A. of C.V.

  1. So…does the specific product (glass) they manufacture receive a DOT approval number or does the manufacturer who manufacturer’s the glass receive a DOT approval number?
