Auto Glass Calibration Competition Deadline Soon – Register Today!

Now in its second year, the Auto Glass Calibration Competition, sponsored by Opti-Aim™, is a premier international competition designed to find and honor the auto glass technician who completes the best auto glass calibration. The competition will take place during Auto Glass Week™, September 4-6 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

The technology behind Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) often makes recalibration of the ADAS system necessary after a windshield replacement. The Auto Glass Calibration Competition is open to all technicians using calibration systems from all Auto Glass Week™ sponsors; including current sponsors Pilkington Opti-Aim, asTech, and Autel.

Areas to be judged include:

  • In-depth Knowledge;
  • Calibration Assessment and Preparation;
  • Material Assembly and Placement;
  • Static Calibration Procedure; and
  • Post-calibration Procedure.

Be sure to register to compete, as the deadline is just around the corner, on July 12. Those interested in competing can find more information and registration details on the official event website here.

Preliminaries for the competition will be held at the competitors shop between July 15 and July 26. The technicians with the three highest scores will become finalists and will compete in person in the finals round to be held on Wednesday, September 4 at Auto Glass Week. The winner of the Auto Glass Calibration Competition will receive a $5,000 grand prize and bragging rights as the “World’s Best Auto Glass Calibration Technician.”

Auto Glass Week is the only event devoted solely to the original equipment (OE) and aftermarket automotive glass repair and replacement industry.
