If it’s difficult to remember all the steps that go into recalibration, a new video, “The ADAS Documentation of Best Practices,” can help, and it all happened when the industry came together.
“When the call went out asking companies like ours to help produce this video, we knew we had to support the cause,” said Michael Quinn, AirPro Diagnostics president. “We hear from shops all the time asking for support and education in the field of scanning and ADAS calibrations. We want to help shops get access to the technology and training they need to properly repair vehicles.”
Volunteers from the Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association (CIECA) ADAS Calibrations committee worked for the last 18 months on an outline of the 12 steps of documentation that industry shops can follow to help ensure ADAS features and functionality are properly calibrated and documented. AirPro Diagnostics sponsored the video and broke down, what is calls, a complex flowchart into simple steps to follow.
“We worked hard to make sure everything was understandable and usable for every shop whether they have 1 or 100 locations,” said Gene Lopez, CIECA committee member and development and training director for Seidner’s Collision. “Not only knowing what you have to repair and calibrate on every vehicle but also knowing how to properly document each step is important.”
