Uswitch research is available on the highest-earning car brands in the world, and Toyota, Volkswagen and Daimler top the list.

Toyota made $275 billion in 2020, which breaks down to $31.34 million per hour and more than $523,889 per minute.

An annual revenue of $255 billion was brought in by Volkswagen in 2020, $29.1 million per hour and $484,399 per minute.

In third place of the world’s top car brands is Daimler AG with $176 billion in 2020, $20.1 million per hour and $335,363 per minute.

Realizing that 2020 was a unique year thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, Uswitch reviewed the motoring trade across the last five years. Volkswagen took the lead with an average $263.5 billion per year, while Toyota brought in an average $260.8 billion per year.

“The world’s vehicle manufacturers are amongst some of the biggest companies in the world. After all, we rely on our cars a lot, from getting us to work, taking us on holiday or even just driving to do the weekly shop,” says Uswitch car insurance expert Florence Codjoe of the research findings.

When it comes to most vehicles sold, Uswitch’s research determined that Toyota sold the most in 2020 with 8.7 million at 724,347 vehicles per month. Volkswagen sold 5.3 million in 2020.
