AG Company Owner Touts Unusual Method to Prevent Smash-and-Grabs

The owner of a Canadian auto glass shop recommends leaving vehicles unlocked to prevent thieves from smashing windows to steal stuff from the vehicle.

Andy Dunleavy, co-owner of Standard Auto Glass in London, Ont., says it’s better to leave the car unlocked and empty of valuables than to pay for repeated window repairs. Most thieves look for easy-to-grab items, such as petty change and valuables in the glove box before moving on to the next vehicle.
