Safelite Grabs Yet another Auto Glass Firm

Safelite® Group has acquired the auto glass assets of New Hampshire-based Thompson Auto Glass. The companies completed the deal on January 5.

“All of us on the Safelite team are thrilled to serve the communities that Thompson has called home since 2019.”

She called Thompson Auto Glass a “well-known New England service brand” “respected for its friendly, customer-centered approach.”

With three locations in Windham, New Hampshire; Brockton, Massachusetts; and Rocky Hill, Connecticut, the combined businesses expand Safelite’s reach.

Thompson Auto Glass will leverage Safelite’s operational systems, advanced safety system recalibration expertise, world-class distribution network, global purchasing power, and substantial insurance and commercial relationships.

Kelly Thompson started Thompson Auto Glass in 2019, generating an ambitious first-year revenue of $643,000, which grew to nearly $3.4 million two years later in 2021, according to New Hampshire Magazine, which named Thompson the second fastest-growing woman-led business in the state last year.

Last year, Auto Glass Repair and Replacement magazine reported that the company’s growth rose 360% from $1.2 million in 2020 to $5.4 million in 2022.

The Thompson acquisition represents the third foray by Safelite into New England. On May 19, 2023, the company bought New Angle Glass in the Boston, Massachusetts area. In

February 2020, Safelite opened a multi-faceted vehicle glass and claims management service organization in Billerica, Massachusetts.
