Long Vacant Gas Station to Become an Auto Glass Shop

According to town records, a long-vacant former gas station in Milford, Massachusetts, may return to life as a new auto glass shop.

Geara Realty Inc. applied for a special permit to open a vehicle repair business focusing on auto glass repair at the site of the former Gibbs gas station, according to the town zoning board of appeals.

The site has remained vacant since 2008 when a damaged underground diesel fuel tank leaked 15,000 gallons of fuel. The state’s attorney general fined the station’s former owner $200,000 in 2011 for failing to report the leak.
