Newly arrived immigrants try to earn some quick cash by offering to wash windshields at several intersections in Denver, Colorado. But the Denver Police Department launched a crackdown on the practice, saying it’s dangerous for them to be on the roadways.
“The Denver Police Department is aware there are individuals at intersections around Denver attempting to wash windows of vehicles for compensation,” the department says. In addition to potential road hazards, the windshield washers may be cited for “soliciting from the roadway or aggressive panhandling.”
