Baseball-Size Hail Strikes Dallas-Fort Worth Area, Overwhelms Auto Glass Shops

A devastating hailstorm rocked the auto glass community again, this time in Texas. Several severe thunderstorms swept over northern Texas on Memorial Day weekend, pelting the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area with hail that locals reported reaching baseball dimensions.

As with most hailstorms, the inclement weather threw the DFW area into chaos and shattered glass in vehicles throughout, leaving auto glass shops overrun with business. glassBYTEs/AGRR magazine contacted over a dozen shops in the area for comment, and those who could answer the phone or return the call said they were so busy after the storm that they didn’t have time to answer any questions.

Many shop representatives had multiple customers either in the shop, on another phone line or awaiting their mobile services when glassBYTEs contacted them. Multiple DFW shops reported being short-staffed, and at least one shop reported a partial power outage.
