Executive Switch Pending for Canadian Auto Services Company

Boyd Group Services Inc.’s current president and chief operating officer (COO), Brian Kaner, will soon become chief executive officer (CEO) as Timothy O’Day prepares to step down. The Canada-based company runs multiple automotive services brands in North America, including Glass America, Gerber Collision & Glass and Boyd Autobody & Glass.

According to company officials, Kaner began his career with Boyd Group in 2022 as COO of its collision operations. He had previously held executive positions at Pep Boys & Icahn Automotive Services and Sears Auto Centers.

“I am honored that the board has selected me as Boyd’s next CEO, and I am extremely excited for our future,” Kaner says.

O’Day joined Gerber Collision & Glass in 1998, officials say. When Boyd Group acquired the company in 2004, O’Day became the group’s COO of U.S. operations. Officials say he served in several executive positions within the company before becoming CEO in 2020.

According to officials, the transition will be effective on May 15, 2025, and O’Day says he’ll be available to support the transition in an “advisory capacity” through the end of 2025.
