A sheriff’s deputy in Stafford County, Virginia, recently handled a situation where a truck’s windshield broke in an unusual way.
Deputy R.T. Kulbeth arrived at the scene of a deer collision to find the vehicle involved sporting a windshield with a gaping hole as well as a smashed backlite. Thankfully, the driver was able to walk away from the crash – and so was the deer.

“I wasn’t expecting the deer to be alive,” Kulbeth says. “That was a shock … we were going to use a catch pole to drag it out, but it jumped out of the truck right when animal control arrived.”
According to the driver’s report, the animal flew through the windshield into the back glass before coming to rest on the passenger-side floorboard.
