A recent Ford voluntary recall affects over a dozen models. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), their rearview images might not display correctly.
NHTSA says the recall impacts some 2021-2024 Bronco, F-150, 2021-2024 Edge, 2023-2024 Escape, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-600, 2022-2024 Expedition, 2022-2025 Transit, 2021-2023 Mach-E, 2024 Ranger, Mustang, 2021-2023 Lincoln Nautilus, 2022-2024 Navigator and 2023-2024 Corsair vehicles. The rearview camera image in about 1,075,299 vehicles may delay, freeze or not display at all when they are reversing.
Ford will update the accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software for free over the air, or owners can bring their vehicles to their local dealer. NHTSA says Ford will mail notification letters on June 16 and plans to mail letters announcing a fix during the third quarter of 2025.
