The Texas government will soon begin glazing all law enforcement vehicles with bullet-resistant glass thanks to a new act.
The Texas legislature just announced a grant program to provide financial aid to communities that want to replace the glass on their law enforcement vehicles with bullet-resistant glass, such as windshields, sidelights, and lights.
Governor Greg Abbott signed the act on June 20, and it goes into effect on September 1. The act requires law enforcement agencies receiving the grant to prove to the state criminal justice division that they purchased and installed the bullet-resistant glass.
