The chairperson of one of the world’s largest publicly traded glass manufacturers has stepped down.
Fuyao Glass announced that its founder, Cho Tak Wong, resigned as chairperson. He will continue as a director and was also appointed honorary chairperson for life. Cho’s son, Tso Fai, was elected as the company’s new chairperson after serving as vice chair.
Fuyao is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of automotive glass. The company’s business also extends into architectural, industrial and smart glass. It has a global footprint with major plants in China, the United States, Germany, Russia and South America, producing automotive and flat glass.
In the U.S., Fuyao Glass is recognized as the subject of the Oscar-winning documentary American Factory. The documentary follows cultural and labor clashes between Chinese management and American workers after Fuyao Glass reopened a former General Motors facility in Moraine, Ohio.
