Insurer Settles Unpaid Labor Claims

A major insurance provider recently settled two class-action lawsuits over allegedly unpaid overtime.

GEICO and the plaintiffs, six call center workers, settled for approximately $900,000 in late January after several years of litigation.

The plaintiffs alleged GEICO didn’t pay them for pre- or post-shift work. Four of the plaintiffs will receive $5,000 each. The other two will get $20,000. The remaining settlement will go toward the rest of the class, attorney fees and administrative costs.
