Allstate Drops Offered Prices to 22 Percent Off NAGS

According to a letter e-mailed yesterday to Allstate's Glass Claim Express program participants, the insurance company has now dropped the prices its willing to reimburse for windshield replacements to 22 percent off NAGS pricing. This number is down from the 20 percent companies doing business in A and B markets were recently receiving as reimbursement. Companies in the C market will see prices offered drop to four percent off of NAGS pricing, while those in the D market will see prices offered at 12 percent above NAGS list prices.

The letter comes less than a month after Allstate started reimbursing shops in the A and B markets at 20 percent off of NAGS; prior to that, A and B markets participating in the Allstate Glass Claim Express program were faced with a reimbursement of 17 percent off the NAGS price and the C and D markets were getting reimbursed at four and 27 percent over NAGS, respectively.

AGRR magazine/glassBYTES.com™ has obtained a copy of the letter, which indicates that the new pricing takes effect May 10. The letter, electronically signed by Carla Holmes, manager of Allstate's national glass program, states that "increased competitiveness in both the auto glass and insurance industries" precipitated the pricing change.
