CRL Plans Grand Opening for Sydney, Australia, Facility

Los Angeles-based, C.R. Laurence Co. Inc. (CRL) has announced the grand opening of the company's new warehouse and distribution center in Sydney, Australia, will take place on November 5.

"The construction of this new state-of-the-art facility marks our commitment to our Australian customers," says Donald E. Friese, chief executive officer. "It is a big step for us, and one of which we are quite proud. We consider Australia to be a major growth market and very important to our own advancement as the leading supplier to the glass industry. We plan to apply the same good business practices and dedication to the customer that we have established here in North America. This new facility will raise our level of service to our Australian customers, and provide them with easy access to our diverse line of over 38,000 products."

The new warehouse features new shipping equipment and computer systems for quick delivery to customers. The service counter will allow customers to pick up orders onsite, and the showroom will display some of the company's newest products, including full-size working models of CRL's architectural hardware products, frameless shower door hardware, railing systems and transaction security hardware.

This newly constructed 55,000-square-foot facility is located in the growing southwestern area of Sydney, close to many of the major glass companies, according to information from the company.

"CRL already has a long-standing presence in North America and Europe," Friese adds. "Our goal is to make CRL a major factor in the glass and architectural hardware marketplace in Australia. This is the first of several branches we plan to open in this country. We are very pleased to be extending our capabilities to Australia and the Sydney area."

Luke Collins, the Managing Director of C.R. Laurence Australia, will direct the branch operation. He has more than 12 years of experience in the glass industry. The assistant manager is Dominic North, and Nathan Ungaro is the sales manager.
