Kryger Glass Loses Longtime Employee Minnette Catron, a long time employee of Kryger Glass, was killed in an auto accident on February 13, 2007 at 6:55am at the age of 52. Catron was traveling to work when she lost control of her vehicle on snow and ice covered roads and was struck and killed by an oncoming snow plow. Catron had worked for Kryger Glass since 1987 and had worked for Harding Glass prior to that. Bill Kryger, president, said, "Minnette was 'the voice of Kryger Glass' spanning three decades…the 80s, 90s and 00s. In tribute to Minnette and her long career of answering our phones…I would like all of us, the entire company, including drivers out on the road…to pause and remember our friend. At exactly 12:00 noon I would like everyone to stop what they are doing and remember Minnette. In her honor we will LET THE PHONES RING! for 3 minutes…one minute for each decade that she was here. At 12:04 we will carry on…just as she would…and just as she would want us to do. I would like the drivers to pull over (in a safe spot) and do the same. This is a terrible tragedy and she will be dearly missed." |
