Auto Glass Conference Mimics Life

The National Auto Glass Conference always proves a microcosm of life and this year was no exception. Joe Gold of GGG Corp. brought pictures of his new son, Lucas, just a few weeks old Guardian representative Debi Owen went beyond pictures and brought her 6-week-old daughter, a bright bundle of pink, in person there were birthdays, too, as Dave Osland of Shat-R-proof celebrated his on Wednesday anniversaries, as Faye and Palmer Gehring of Allstate Glass in Fayetteville, N.C., celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary and vacations in the works as Alfie Ogstrom of the Extractor returned home for a day before taking off to Hawaii for a few weeks vacation.

There were some hellos to new people in the industry and goodbyes to Ken Kosel of 3M Co. attended his last industry event before retirement later this summer. There was some sad news too Betsy Evanoff Katekovich of Glaxis was injured when the drapery and heavy rod in her room fell down on her head, requiring seven stitches at the local hospital and attendee Sven Moller of Sveglass International., in Sydney, Australia, died of a heart attack at the Dallas airport on his way to the conference.
