Auto Glass Conference Mimics Life The National Auto Glass Conference always proves a microcosm of life and this year was no exception. Joe Gold of GGG Corp. brought pictures of his new son, Lucas, just a few weeks old … Guardian representative Debi Owen went beyond pictures and brought her 6-week-old daughter, a bright bundle of pink, in person … there were birthdays, too, as Dave Osland of Shat-R-proof celebrated his on Wednesday … anniversaries, as Faye and Palmer Gehring of Allstate Glass in Fayetteville, N.C., celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary … and vacations in the works as Alfie Ogstrom of the Extractor returned home for a day before taking off to Hawaii for a few weeks vacation. There were some hellos to new people in the industry … and goodbyes to Ken Kosel of 3M Co. attended his last industry event before retirement later this summer. There was some sad news too … Betsy Evanoff Katekovich of Glaxis was injured when the drapery and heavy rod in her room fell down on her head, requiring seven stitches at the local hospital … and attendee Sven Moller of Sveglass International., in Sydney, Australia, died of a heart attack at the Dallas airport on his way to the conference. |
