The Round Rock, Texas-based Equalizer Industries has upgraded from an Emerald sponsorship to a Sapphire sponsorship for the Third Annual Auto Glass Technician Olympics (AGTO). This year's AGTO will be held in Las Vegas November 2-3, 2007, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The event is co-sponsored by the Independent Glass Association and AGRR magazine. "The [AGTO] is a competition, but it is not just a speed competition," says Ray Asbery, chief executive officer for the company. "It is a competition to see who can do the work quickly, but more importantly who can do the work correctly. We want everyone to remember that someone's life depends on you doing the job correctly and the [AGTO] is one of the venues for getting that point across." Upgrades to Sapphire Auto Glass Technician Olympics Sponsorship
The
first-place winner in the AGTO will receive $5,000, a gold medal and trophy as
well as bragging rights as the "World's Best Auto Glass Technician." Second place
will receive $1,000 as well as a silver medal and third will receive $500 and
a bronze medal.
