Ford Reports Strong Puerto Rico Sales In January

Ford reported sales of 1,724 units in Puerto Rico in January, a 45-percent increase over the same month last year. Sales were led by Ford's truck and SUV line-up.

With 238 units sold, Ford F-150 sales registered a 14-percent increase. Sales for the Ford Explorer saw a 30-percent increase.

Up 23 percent, sales for the Ford Escape were recorded at 91 units. Sales for the Ford Expedition were also on the rise, with 34 units sold for a 200-percent increase year over year.

"We are greatly satisfied with Ford's kick-off performance in 2004," noted John Swigard, regional manager for Ford. "With seven new product launches slated for the year ahead, we look forward to delivering on our promise of offering customers dependable, versatile products at the best possible value."
