GEICO Employees Receive Nearly 30-Percent Bonus

Across the country, employees of the insurance company GEICO received profit-sharing bonuses this week to the tune of 27.6 percent. Reports indicate that the bonuses are the equivalent of just more than three months of pay and that 10 percent of the bonuses, which were handed out to those employed with the company for more than a year, were put into 401K plans. The bonuses are not the highest the company has handed out to employees; in 1998 employees received more than 30-percent profit sharing bonuses.
