Awards Presented at GPD

Francis Serruys of Saint-Gobain Glass Solutions received the General award at the recent Glass Processing Days (GPD) in Tampere. He has played an important role in the event for more than 10 years, as a program chairman and workshop organizer.

The Automotive award went to Don Ableson, president of the SAE Foundation of Canada and a consultant.

The Architectural award was presented to Timothy McFarlane of Dewhurst Macfarlane and Partners, a structural engineering consulting firm. McFarlane was recognized for his innovative use of glass as an architectural element, including the Apple stores glass stairs.

A special award was presented to Tahvo Sutela of Pilkington Lahden Lasitehdas Oy, who has been active in GPD since the first event.
