Glas-Weld Systems, Inc. Sends Rider to LIVESTRONG Race in Portland

Glas-Weld Systems, a supplier of tools and materials for glass service companies headquartered in Bend, Ore., has announced that it has sponsored a rider in the Lance Armstrong Foundation's LIVESTRONG Ride bicycle ride in Portland, Ore. on September 25.

Chris Boyle, an employee of the company, will be riding in the charity event and the money he raises goes directly to the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

"When we heard about the LIVESTRONG ride coming to our area, we were immediately interested in participating and supporting the Lance Armstrong Foundation," said Mike Boyle, president of Glas-Weld Systems, Inc. "Part of the proceeds will stay in Oregon at Oregon Health Sciences University, and that was also a plus from our point of view. We know how many people are affected by cancer, and wanted to do our part to help."

The Portland bike ride is part of a series of bicycle rides around the country that will help to raise money for cancer advocacy, education, public health and research programs.
