Yesterday, we posted the O&A letter Kemper had issued to participating Kemper Auto and Home Group glass shops. Some readers contacted us saying that they had different figures from what was in that letter. We were given a copy of one such letter and it is for the Kemper Auto and Home Group Clear Choice Claim Service and it is, indeed, a different letter with different rates. The following is a copy of the letter sent to Rate D and E shops in the Clear Choice program.

Dear Participant:

On February 28, 2005 National Auto Glass Specifications (NAGS), the organization responsible for establishing benchmark retail list prices for the auto glass replacement industry, will update its current list prices. The NAGS list price changes and the rates below will be effective for work performed on or after February 28, 2005. Please take note of the price change within the part, labor and kit components of the invoice.

Kemper Auto and Home Group Clear Choice Claim Service has established the following rates for shops in your area:.

Windshield: 41.00% Over NAGS List
Curve Tempered:41.00% Over NAGS List
Labor charges: $40.00 Flat + $30.00 Per NAGS Labor Hour
High Modulus/ $65.00 1.0 Kit
Non-Conductive Urethane $95.00 1.5 Kit
$125.00 2.0 Kit
All other urethanes: $15.00 per NAGS kit quantity
Windshield repairs: $59.95
$10.00 for additional repairs,
(Maximum of 3 repairs total)

The prices above supersede any prior pricing for Kemper Auto and Home Group Clear Choice Claim Service.
