Maryland to Study NGA Model Technician Licensure Act

On February 13, Delegate Mary Ann Love of the Maryland House of Representatives introduced House Bill 1097, which is based on the National Glass Association's (NGA's) Model Act for the Licensure of Auto Glass Technicians and Glaziers. On March 3, a meeting about the bill was held and Love decided to further pursue passage of the bill.

Despite some funding problems at the Maryland House having to do with transportation, Delegate Love says she has decided to hold meetings this summer with Maryland regulators to seek a solution, according to the NGA.

Tom Parbuoni and Brian Novak of the Mid-Atlantic Glass Association, and Janice Brannon, NGA's legislative consultant, have met with Love and Gregory Safko, commissioner, and Monica James, counsel of the Maryland Department of Labor, licensing and regulation, division of occupational licensing and regulation.
