NAGS Calculating Fall Data in Wake of Recent Price Increases

Despite concerns that the recent price increases announced by many of the industry's distributors and manufacturers will not be reflected in the Fall 2008 NAGS Calculator, NAGS director of operations Bud Oliver says the calculations have not yet been completed. The most recent companies to announce price increases, ranging from 6.5 to 7.5 percent, are PPG Auto Glass, Vitro America and AGC Automotive Replacement Glass.

"We are very aware of the announced price increases in the last couple of weeks. We have not done the analysis for the Fall Calculator … " says Oliver. "When we collect the cost files for our analysis, any changes in the cost data will manifest itself in the benchmark."

The effective date for the Fall Calculator is scheduled for September 8.

The Fall Calculator is now available for pre-order, through tomorrow, July 16.
