Ralph Nader to Deliver Keynote Speech at IGA Convention 2007

Noted automotive safety advocate Ralph Nader will be the keynote speaker at this year's IGA Convention and Spring Auto Glass Show, being held May 17-19, 2007 at the Cashman Center in Las Vegas. Nader will discuss consumer/glass safety in auto and architecture.

Nader's book Unsafe at Any Speed was published in 1965, an expose of alleged disregard carmakers held for consumer safety. The book sparked Senate hearings and resulted in the establishment of motor vehicle safety laws.

Having helped shape motor vehicle safety laws, Nader has been actively involved in automotive safety issues for nearly 40 years. He also was instrumental in facilitating the recall of defective motor vehicles over the years. His original research organization, the Center for Study of Responsive Law, headquartered in Washington, D.C., has produced reports on subjects such as Interstate Commerce Commission, corporate welfare and government procurement, and other groups such as the Disability Rights Center and Congressional Accountability Project have taken their lead from him.

In 2006, a movie biopic of his life titled An Unreasonable Man debuted at the Sundance Film Festival where it was nominated for a Grand Jury Prize for documentary film. It opened nationwide in February 2007. (CLICK HERE for more information about the movie.)

Nader will be speaking on Friday, May 18. All full-registration conference participants are invited to hear him speak.
