PPG Featured in Employment Article

Pittsburgh-based PPG Industries was featured in an article about hiring in today's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. According to the article, PPG prefers to handle its interaction with potential employees almost entirely electronically. It posts openings on the Internet and receives 95 percent of the resumes that come in via e-mail, according to John Coyne, manager of corporate recruitment.

"Our goal is to have a paperless employment process. With the abundance of applicants we've had, it's almost unmanageable to handle paper," Coyne told the Post-Gazette.

PPG told the paper it received between 9,000 and 10,000 resumes last year.
