PPG Raises Prices 7.5 Percent, Effective August 1

PPG Auto Glass announced yesterday that it will raise its wholesale distribution glass prices 7.5 percent, effective August 1.

David P. Goldstein, director of process excellence for the company, announced the price increase yesterday via e-mail.

"Increases in raw materials, natural gas and fuel are significantly impacting the manufacturing and delivery costs of our glass products," writes Goldstein. "PPG Auto Glass will continue to implement cost reduction initiatives to offset a portion of these rising costs, but cannot absorb this level of inflation."

Goldstein was not available for further comment at press time.
