Strike Ends at PPG Savage Plant

According to union sources at the facility, the week-long strike at the PPG Auto Glass distribution facility in Savage, Md., is about to end. Union employees have agreed in principle to report back to work, Steve Baker, shop steward told glassBYTEs™.

A spokesperson for the Pittsburgh, Pa., based glass manufacturer said that she could not confirm this information and couldn't comment on it. She did say that the company is in negotiations with employees at the facility over issues.

The unionized employees went on strike Thursday, January 18, because of issues with company management over benefits and wages, according to Baker.
