PPG Closes Glendale, CA Call Center

As part of a long-term business plan, PPG Auto Glass Llc. recently closed a call center located in Glendale, CA, which housed employees in the company's auto glass and aerospace groups.

The call center was closed in order to accommodate a shift of resources to PPG Auto Glass' locations in Irving, TX and Orlando, FL along with a rollout of the company's virtual service technology, according to Lee St. John, PPG Auto Glass vice president of strategic business for the company.

"This allows us to utilize the skills and experience of PPG auto glass customer service professionals physically located outside these two areas [Irving and Orlando]," St. John said. "Our service level metrics have not changed as a result of these recent moves, and we expect improved service resulting from the flexible staffing enabled through our virtual technology."
