The Boards Were Right: Pilkington Also Announces Three-Percent Price Increase

With the announcement of the PPG's 3-percent (see glassBYTES March 17, 2006, PPG Raises Prices 3 Percent, speculation ran rampant on the AGRR message boards as to when glass manufacturer Pilkington would make a similar announcement. According to the letter faxed to glassBYTES.com™, the "when" was March 22.

Citing the "many costs … affecting us at all levels within the industry," specifically raw materials, energy, fuel, health care and labor costs, Pilkington has announced a three-percent general price increase effective April 10, 2006.
