Safelite Solutions LLC, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, recently issued a letter to flat glass and glazing shops promoting its network for the flat glass industry in a push to expand. The company is currently in the process of contacting glass shops, inviting them to join the network and outlining how the network will work with regard to claims and membership.

"It's really been around for close to 7 years. It's part of claims management organization, Safelite Solutions," said Bret Baird, Safelite marketing manager.

"It operates the same way [as the auto glass network]," said Denise Klapper, vice president of marketing at Safelite.
"The residential glass provider [network] operates much the same way in that providers can choose to be part of the network. They sign an agreement and as residential claims are available, they are offered accordingly-if a policyholder has a shop or preference, they are asked if they have a preference. If they do, they go to that shop. If they don't, they are offered a shop on the network. The information that will be requested would be standard information would be type of claim, date of loss, the same sort of information as anything else," she added.

First notice of loss calls will be answered by Safelite Solutions LLC call enter and dispatched to network members.
