Safelite AutoGlass has announced that it will donate $10,000 to the
American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to support the victims of hurricanes
Charley and Frances.
"We've served more than a thousand victims of Hurricane Charley
in the last three weeks, so our team has seen first-hand the devastation
and loss as we drive to customers' homes and talk with them at our locations,"
said Dan Wilson, president & chief executive officer. "With
Hurricane Frances affecting many areas of Florida, including those already
recovering from Charley, we felt it was important to do something more
by supporting the Red Cross Disaster Relief efforts."
Safelite deployed its Catastrophe Action Team (CAT), a team of more
than 25 technicians and support personnel, to Florida in the aftermath
of Hurricane Charley. In response to Hurricane Frances, Safelite has
already begun sending additional staff and trucks loaded with inventory
and supplies ready to move into affected areas. The Catastrophe Action
Team is also monitoring the path of Hurricane Ivan so that any areas
that could be potentially impacted by the storm are prepared in advance.
