Safelite AutoGlass Launches Technician Profile E-mail Tool
Safelite AutoGlass recently unveiled its technician profile e-mail program,
a program in which customers who provide their e-mail addresses will receive
an e-mail containing the name, brief biography and photo of the technician
who will perform the service. In addition, the e-mail will provide a quote
for the service requested, along with the estimated time of service and
location.
Company officials say the program was created to provide its customers
with an "additional level of comfort and safety."
"We wanted to provide our customers with information about the certified
technician that would visit their homes or offices, providing peace of
mind that the technician performing highly technical work on their valued
possessions is both capable and trustworthy," says Jennifer Kielmeyer,
web and emerging technologies, strategic marketing manager for Belron
US, parent company of Safelite.
Customers will receive the technician profile e-mail whether they have
scheduled service online or over the phone, providing they have given
their e-mail addresses. Implementation of this service began in May and
nearly 1,000 e-mails have been distributed to consumers since then.
A recent survey conducted by Safelite found that 80 percent of respondents
liked the e-mail they received and 85 percent said they felt more comfortable
with the technician coming to their home once they had received the e-mail.
Eighty-eight percent of respondents felt the job would be done properly
and professionally after receiving the e-mail, and many respondents commented
they liked seeing the photo of their technician before he or she arrived
at their home, according to a press release issued by the company.
The technician profile e-mail will be rolled out to all Safelite customers
during 2009.
