The Madison Heights, Mich.-based Sika Corp. has become an Emerald sponsor for the Third Annual Auto Glass Technician Olympics (AGTO). This year's AGTO will be held in Las Vegas November 2-3, 2007, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The event is co-sponsored by the Independent Glass Association and AGRR magazine. "Sika is always interested in raising the bar of performance within the industry, and we believe that any type of installer competition is good for the industry, because it emphasizes safe and correct installation," says John King, vice president of aftermarket products. The
first-place winner in the AGTO will receive $5,000, a gold medal and trophy as
well as bragging rights as the "World's Best Auto Glass Technician." Second place
will receive $1,000 as well as a silver medal and third will receive $500 and
a bronze medal.
