Meet glassBYTEs.com™'s Newest Blogger: Joel Timmons

Joel Timmons, president and founder of Profitable Glass Solutions Ltd., in Dayton, Ohio, will begin authoring a blog in January 2008 for glassBYTEs.com. The latest blog, which will be posted every two weeks, will focus on trends Timmons sees in the industry as he consults with shops and suppliers, along with focusing on current news topics of interest.

Timmons launched his company in April 2007 and works with both shops and retail glass shops and wholesale manufacturers and suppliers as a consultant.

"At the end of the day, I want to help those who want to succeed to succeed," he says.

Timmons provides both one-on-one consulting to his clients, along with "education and curriculum opportunities in large and small group forums."

In his consulting efforts, Timmons offers a range of services from designing sales and marketing plans to helping companies confirm that they are compliant with the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standard (AGRSS).

As for trends he's seen so far, one is the growing number of consumer-based jobs (as opposed to those that were generated via insurance).

"That was one of the reasons I started Profitable Glass Solutions-to help people learn to market to a new group of customers," Timmons says.

Timmons has worked with a number of companies from different facets of the industry, including Glass America, Diversified Glass and Dow Automotive.
