2007 WRO Champion to Return to This Year's Competition

Matt Anderson of NOVUS Auto Glass in Spokane Valley, Wash., who took first place in last year's Walt Gorman Memorial Windshield Repair Olympics (WRO) in Las Vegas, has registered to compete again in this year's event. The third annual WRO will be held November 6 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas as part of Auto Glass Week™.

Anderson achieved a perfect score in the initial round of last year's competition, and, since his win, has noted he's been able to utilize his status as a "champion" in his work.

"It helps me in terms of promoting sales directly with my customers and instilling their confidence in my work," he says. "They're always glad to hear about it and they usually have some questions about the competition."

The winner of this year's WRO will receive $1,000, a gold medal and trophy, as well as bragging rights as the "World's Best Repair Technician." Second place will receive $500 as well as a silver medal and third will receive $250 and a bronze medal.

In addition, the winner's company will receive extensive media coverage and press releases sent on behalf of the champion; use of the winner logo on stationery, business cards and advertising for one year; use of the 2008 WRO logo for an unlimited time; and a congratulations ad and coverage of the victor in AGRR magazine.

There are only 9 days left to register for the WRO, which is co-sponsored by AGRR magazine and the National Windshield Repair Association.
