Automakers mull yielding to pedestrians

Vehicle body designs change over time, sometimes to enhance aesthetics and sometimes to protect occupant safety. A new change may be coming to protect those outside the vehicle, too. Some top car designers are considering the next step in car safety to protect pedestrians, including shorter hoods and possible outside airbags, according to an article by the Washington Post.
