Well, we don't have former Safelite CEO John Barlow to kick around anymore, but he did give us a call yesterday, and we can report that he is well and still as interesting as ever.

The call was prompted by the AGRR Rate the Networks survey. It seems that John is interested in that project and what its results will be.

He also seems to keep at least somewhat abreast of the industry and commented on how bad it is for the industry today with prices continuing to drop.

What, we asked him, does he think about the various postings indicating that Safelite is going bankrupt again or being sold? "Lot of wishful thinking on the part of some people, I think," he said. Although he did further add that he doesn't have any particular inside knowledge about his old company anymore.
