No Incentives From Belron?

Despite the announcement yesterday from Belron US and Diamond Triumph that the two companies intend to discontinue the practice of providing insurance incentives in the industry, glassBytes.com™/AGRR magazine, has today received a number of reports that the practice continues in at least one of Belron's subsidiaries, Auto Glass Specialists in Kenosha, Wis. The insurance incentive form, which can be viewed by clicking here, was faxed to glassBytes.com anonymously. The form provides a location for the insurance agent to complete the policyholder's information, type of work done and asks the agent for the choice of gift certificates. The certificates offered range from gas cards to gift cards for stores such as Kohl's and restaurants such as Applebee's and the Olive Garden.

glassBytes.com/AGRR magazine today confirmed that the form is one Auto Glass Specialists currently uses. The manager of the Kenosha location could not be reached for comment.

The form does include a small footnote that says, "Please note if this is contrary to your business, policy's [sic] or procedures, please disregard."

Jenny Cain, Belron US spokesperson, said she is not aware of such practices on the part of the Madison, Wis.-based company. "I don't know of any incentives from Auto Glass Specialists," Cain said, noting how recently both Safelite and Auto Glass Specialists were acquired by Belron. Cain said she would investigate this issue further.
