State Farm Insurance Co., has issued a press release from Winterhaven, Fla. stating that as of August 15 it had received 19,454 homeowner and 1,552 auto insurance claims as a result of Hurricane Charley. The company expects the number to rise as power and order are restored to the more heavily damaged communities. The Allstate Foundation, an independent, charitable organization made possible by The Allstate Corporation - the parent of the Allstate Group of companies, has announced that it established a $1 million fund to aid in the recovery and rebuilding efforts in response to the devastation of the hurricane. The Southwest Florida Community Foundation has been chosen to distribute the Disaster Recovery Fund in the hurricane-affected regions of the state. Donations from the fund are earmarked for a variety of hurricane relief needs in affected communities. |
