The Citroen C3 Pluriel sedan can be converted into a cabriolet, spider or pick-up, thanks in part to engineering plastics, plastics supplier Ticona has recently announced.

To achieve the transformations, the Pluriel has a rotary frame, which permits the folded roof/rear screen to be pivoted and stowed in the recessed trunk area. The frame is made from long-glass, fiber-reinforced polyamide 66.

Inalfa Roof Systems, the Dutch company supplying the roofing system used molded Celstran PP-GF40 long-glass, fiber-reinforced polypropylene on a metal frame for the functional elements of the rear window frame.
