Response about Connecticut Contract

In response to the glassBYTEs™ item on Monday concerning the award of a multi-year contract for auto glass replacement in Connecticut, we received this response from John Wisniewski, owner of PayLess Auto Glass, which was one of the companies awarded the contract.

"I would like to respond to your statement when you said that all of the winners Safelite, Triumph and PayLess Auto Glass gave "substantial discounts off NAGS, and do not follow NAGS recommendations concerning labor and kit pricing" to the State of Connecticut.

"Please note that the State of Connecticut has a very limited line of vehicles that represent a small fraction of NAGS parts. When we bid on a contract like this we can target the inventory needed to service a specific customer and their specific needs.

I cannot speak for my competition, but I can say that the prices PayLess Auto Glass offered the State of Connecticut is by no means a reflection of fair market pricing to anyone other than the State of Connecticut and should not be interpreted as such."
