Glass America Completes Auto Glass Service Purchase

Glass America finalized its purchase of Auto Glass Service LLC., headquartered in Murfeesboro, Tenn., this afternoon, Jeff Lloyd, vice president of marketing told glassBYTEs. This adheres to the schedule announced when the transaction was reported here earlier this month. Asked hours before the scheduled closing if everything was on track, Lloyd stated, "It seems to be but it's like buying a house. You never know until the end."

Auto Glass Service, founded in 1996, had been a privately owned regional auto glass repair and replacement company with more than 40 locations in the South. In Georgia, the company is also known as Service Auto Glass.

Glass America, which is headquartered in Chicago, was established in 1999 and has 45 stores in 14 states. In October 2004, Founders Equity Inc. (FEI) bought the assets to Glass America's auto glass division. FEI does not own Glass America's architectural glass locations.
